"The sky grew dark, the thunder rumbled in the distance, people in the crowd began to run and seek shelter. I stood outside, drenched by the rain, smelled the sweetness of the earth and was ever so aware of the beauty and power of nature. I knew then, I had become an artist.
As a landscape painter, my work is inspired by the natural world, its unity, contrasts and grandeur. Rather than re-create a realistic landscape, I express its’ energy and essence through color and texture with the goal of conveying my experiences and inspiration to my audience. These experiences have enabled me to develop a love for places and things that might otherwise be perceived as commonplace. The theme of all of my paintings is "Hope and Light", the universal gift that all of us possess, even in our darkest hours. "
