Dorothy Roof Fine Furniture builds unique pieces of furniture from hardwoods of the customer’s choice. Figured cherry or walnut, quartersawn white oak, mahogany or other exotic woods are selected to complement the individual designs. The furniture is joined by dovetails and mortise-and-tenons that are hand-cut, hand-fit, and rock solid. Strong, simple details - a beautifully carved drawer pull, a special piece of figured walnut inlay, a spectacular veneered accent panel, a pair of rosewood butterfly keys – complement the primary woods and lift the pieces from serviceable to extraordinary. Dorothy Roof, the owner of the company, graduated from The Furniture Institute of Massachusetts with a certificate in fine furniture construction. All of the custom furniture is built on-site in the shop located in Beverly, Massachusetts.
